Invitation to the 20th Shogi Open Tournament of Colmar

Planning below is actually listing 7 rounds. In reality, each player will get a bye during one round to get the chance to play against Madoka Kitao joryu 2-Dan.

Special events
Special efforts are done for this edition since it is the 20th anniversary of the tournament.

Permanent discovery stand
During the full duration of the tournament, visitors will have the opportunity to discover Shogi and Dobutsu Shogi for free.

French Championship
Aside from the usual Open tournament, the 32 best present French players will fight in a closed tournament.
This tournament will be on direct elimination basis, eliminated players being then added to the Open tournament
with the amount of points already obtained during the Championship.

Madoka Kitao Joryu 2-dan
Famous pro japanese female player Madoka Kitao will join during the full duration of the tournament.
Madoka Kitao is wellknonwn for her involvment in making shogi discovered by children and shogi promotion all around the world.
Particularly, she has created the game "Dobutsu Shogi".

During the tournament, she will offer simultaneous games to tournament players and will comment one game after the prize giving.

Registration
Registration fees are to
- 20 Euros for FFS members and foreign players
- 22 Euros for French players without FFS licence
- 25 Euros for ASA members, including annual membership renewal.
These tournament fees are including not only the tournament registration, but also sandwiches for Saturday, (if remaining) Sunday, and tea on request during the whole tournament.
